The year of construction, in Hebrew numerals, and the Ottoman Crescent & Star emblem are engraved on the keystone of a Jewish house, 14 Pri Hadash Street, Zichron Moshe Neighborhood.
The Ottoman emblem reflects the political trend among some Jews, at that time, following the Young Turks’ Rebellion of 1908, which called on the Jews to forgo their European nationalities and the protection of the European consulates in Palestine, in favor of becoming Ottoman citizens.
