A six-winged seraph is a symbolic celestial being, in both Christianity and Judaism, and is based on the Biblical verse: “…I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple.
Above it stood the Seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.” (Isaiah 6:1-2). A six-meter high stone relief decorates the YMCA tower (1933), 26 King David Street, City Center.
