This verse tells of one of Jesus’ miracles, when he says in Aramaic “Talitha Kumi” and resurrects the girl from death. This was the name of the German Deaconess Sisters Girls Orphanage, built in 1868. It stood on King George Street in Central Jerusalem until the building was demolished in 1980; a section of the façade was reconstructed on site (Talitha Kumi Memorial).
