An eight point cross symbolizing the Eight Beatitudes. The cross is associated with the Knights of St John (also known as the Hospitaller Knights of St John of Jerusalem). A stone sculpture of a crusader knight protects the entrance to the German Augusta Victoria Hospice, built on Mount of Olives in 1910.
