Commemorating Donors and dignitaries. The construction of many churches and Christian institutions in Jerusalem was funded by contributions from abroad. These donations were designated for religious, philanthropic and political purposes. The donors ranged from world leaders like German Emperor Wilhelm II, through Scottish Nobility, to humble Armenian pilgrims.
